During World War II, Operation Gauntlet was a Combined Operations raid by Canadian troops, with British Army logistics support and Free Norwegian Forces servicemen on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen, 600 miles south of the North Pole, from 18 August 1941.

The objective was to destroy the rich coal mines there together with associated equipment and stores, which it was correctly assumed the Germans intended to make use of. These mines on Norwegian territory were owned and operated by Norway and by the Soviet Union and both governments agreed to their destruction and the evacuation of their nationals.

Santa Claus is a figure in North American culture who bring gifts to the homes of good children during the late evening and overnight hours of Christmas Eve. Although this has long been established to be a children’s story, the reality goes much deeper…
The American government has long protected Santa Claus and his small battalion of elves and reindeer in a fort located in the North Pole, creating toys for the children of the world, as well as weapons for our armed forces, thus establishing strong assets for the U.S economy.

But every strong asset to the United States is at risk. One night, a terrorist sleeper cell by the name of Silent Knight infiltrated Santa Claus’ North Pole fortress and has held Santa and his associates hostage. In addition, Silent Knight has sent the President of the United States a ransom for one trillion dollars or Santa was to be executed live over the internet.

The United States doesn’t bargain with terrorists, so the President had the Secretary of Defense send a special task force to rescue Santa Claus and neutralize the Silent Knight terror threat. This op is a recreation of the epic North Pole conflict that was doomed into obscurity…until now.

Godfather Airsoft Operation Vigilant Resolve

This event occurred at GF Outdoor Field on Saturday December 3, 2011. For more information on our events, visit http://gfairsoftclub.com

As part of the occupation of Iraq, the First Battle of Fallujah, codenamed Operation Vigilant Resolve, was an unsuccessful attempt by the United States Military to capture the city of Fallujah in April 2004. The chief catalyst for the operation was the highly-publicized killing and mutilation of four Blackwater private military contractors, and the killing of five U.S. soldiers in Habbaniyah a few days earlier. Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt, deputy director of operations for the US military in Iraq, promised an "overwhelming" response to the Blackwater deaths, stating "We will pacify that city."
The resulting engagements set off widespread fighting throughout Central Iraq and along the Lower Euphrates, with various elements of the Iraqi insurgency taking advantage of the situation and commencing simultaneous operations against the Coalition forces.

The largest combat mission since the declaration of the end of "major hostilities", the Battle of Fallujah marked a turning point in public perception of the on-going conflict. This was because insurgents, rather than Saddam loyalists, were seen as the chief opponents of US forces. It was also judged by both military and civilian agencies, that reliance upon US-funded regional militias, such as the failed Fallujah Brigade, could prove disastrous. Many would regard The Battle of Fallujah was not a defeat—but we cannot afford many more victories like it.

Godfather Airsoft: The Battle of Stalingrad

Posted by admin

This op occured on November 6, 2011 at GF Outdoor Field. More Events and all things airsoft at http://www.godfatherairsoft.com

The Battle of Stalingrad was a major battle of World War II in which Nazi Germany and its allies fought the Soviet Union for control of the city of Stalingrad (now Volgograd) in southwestern Russia. The battle took place between 23 August 1942 and 2 February 1943. It was among the largest on the Eastern Front and was marked by its brutality and disregard for military and civilian casualties. It was amongst the bloodiest battles in the history of warfare with the higher estimates of combined casualties amounting to nearly two million. In its defeat, the crippling losses suffered by Germany’s military proved to be insurmountable for the war. The battle was a turning point in the war, after which the German forces attained no further strategic victories in the East.

The German offensive to capture Stalingrad commenced in late summer 1942, supported by intensive Luftwaffe bombing which reduced much of the city to rubble. The German offensive eventually became bogged down in house-to-house fighting; and despite controlling over 90% of the city at times, the Wehrmacht was unable to dislodge the last Soviet defenders clinging tenaciously to the west bank of the Volga River.

In November 1942, the Red Army launched Operation Uranus; a two-pronged attack, targeted at the inferior Romanian and Italian forces which were protecting the German 6th Army flanks. The success of these attacks caused the weakly held flanks to collapse and the 6th Army to be cut off and surrounded inside Stalingrad. As the Russian winter set in, the 6th Army weakened rapidly from cold, starvation and ongoing Soviet attacks. Command ambiguity coupled with Adolf Hitler’s resolute belief in the "power of the will" and the value of "standing fast" further compounded the German predicament. Eventually, the failure to break the encirclement by relieving German forces, coupled with the failure of re-supply by air, caused the final collapse. By early February 1943, German resistance in Stalingrad had ceased and the remaining elements of the surrounded 6th Army had either surrendered or had been destroyed.

Godfather Airsoft Operation Bayonet

Posted by admin

This op took place on October 2, 2011

Operation Bayonet, also called Operation Wrath of God was a covert operation directed by Israel and the Mossad to assassinate individuals alleged to have been directly or indirectly involved in the 1972 Munich massacre: when members of the Israeli Olympic team were taken hostage and eventually killed by the Palestinian terrorist group Black September.

Their targets included members of the Palestinian militant group Black September, who were responsible for the Munich attack, and members of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) accused of being involved. During this time, covert Israeli assassination units killed dozens of suspected conspirators across Europe, including the mistaken murder of an innocent waiter in Lillehammer, Norway, in what became known as the Lillehammer affair. An additional military assault was launched by Israeli commandos deep inside Lebanon to kill several high-profile Palestinian targets. This string of assassinations spurred retaliatory attacks by Black September against a variety of Israeli government targets around the world. It has also prompted criticism of Israel over its choice of targets, tactics of assassination, and overall effectiveness. Because of the secretive nature of the operation, some details are unverifiable beyond a single source, including the story of Yuval Aviv, who claims to have led an Israeli assassination squad. Some or all information about the operation might have been placed by the Mossad itself, to cover the tracks of its agents, and spread useful rumours (e.g., in the book upon which the feature Sword of Gideon was based, most Mossad agents involved in the operation get killed, possibly a cover to protect them from revenge).
