As part of the occupation of Iraq, the First Battle of Fallujah, codenamed Operation Vigilant Resolve, was an unsuccessful attempt by the United States Military to capture the city of Fallujah in April 2004. The chief catalyst for the operation was the highly-publicized killing and mutilation of four Blackwater private military contractors, and the killing of five U.S. soldiers in Habbaniyah a few days earlier. Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt, deputy director of operations for the US military in Iraq, promised an "overwhelming" response to the Blackwater deaths, stating "We will pacify that city."
The resulting engagements set off widespread fighting throughout Central Iraq and along the Lower Euphrates, with various elements of the Iraqi insurgency taking advantage of the situation and commencing simultaneous operations against the Coalition forces.
The largest combat mission since the declaration of the end of "major hostilities", the Battle of Fallujah marked a turning point in public perception of the on-going conflict. This was because insurgents, rather than Saddam loyalists, were seen as the chief opponents of US forces. It was also judged by both military and civilian agencies, that reliance upon US-funded regional militias, such as the failed Fallujah Brigade, could prove disastrous. Many would regard The Battle of Fallujah was not a defeat—but we cannot afford many more victories like it.

Operation Entebbe was a counter-terrorist hostage-rescue mission carried out by the Special Forces of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) at Entebbe Airport in Uganda on 4 July 1976. A week earlier, on 27 June, an Air France plane with 248 passengers was hijacked by Palestinian and German terrorists and flown to Entebbe, near Kampala, the capital of Uganda. Shortly after landing, all non-Israeli passengers, except one French citizen, were released.
The IDF acted on intelligence provided by the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. In the wake of the hijacking by members of the militant organizations Revolutionary Cells and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, along with the hijackers’ threats to kill the hostages if their prisoner release demands were not met, the rescue operation was planned. These plans included preparation for armed resistance from Ugandan military troops.
The operation took place at night, as Israeli transport planes carried 100 commandos over 2,500 miles to Uganda for the rescue operation. The operation, which took a week of planning, lasted 90 minutes and 102 hostages were rescued. Five Israeli commandos were wounded and one, the commander, Lt. Col. Yonatan Netanyahu, was killed. All the hijackers, three hostages and 45 Ugandan soldiers were killed, and thirty Soviet-built MiG-17s and MiG-21s of Uganda’s air force were destroyed. A fourth hostage was killed by Ugandan army officers at a nearby hospital.
The rescue, named Operation Thunderbolt, is sometimes referred to retroactively as Operation Jonathan in memory of the unit’s leader, Yonatan Netanyahu. He was the older brother of Benjamin Netanyahu, who served as the Prime Minister of Israel from 1996 to 1999 as well as since 2009. The operation is widely considered one of the greatest and daring special forces operations in history considering the high risk nature of the commando raid, distance from home territory and casualty and hostage rescue ratio.

Operation Dazzlem:
October 1st, 1967- Feb 10th, 1968. Binh Dinh Province, South Vietnam. Camp Radcliffe.- Occupied by the US 1st Cavarly Division.
After Conducting Operation: Dazzlem, The disruption of VC/NVA supply and troop movement through the Binh Dinh Province, the 1st Cavalry Division sets up a defensive line starting at Camp Radcliffe in the Binh Dinh Province. After cutting gaps into the VC/NVA supply lines Allied forces are pushed back to a defensive perimeter which they will hold until reinforcements arrive to continue the Operation. The 1st Cavalry Division, relying solely on Helicopter aircraft are left mainly undermanned at Camp Radcliffe. With only a handful of wheeled and tracked Vehicles. Upon receiving intel that Camp Radcliffe is virtually undefended, VC and NVA forces make their way to the outskirts of Camp Radcliffe. After an intense mortar and artillery barrage an all out assualt takes place. Radcliffe is defended for two days until the defenders are overrun and retreat into the jungle. Camp Radcliffe will eventually be recaptured.
This Op represents those two days of hell at Camp Radcliffe.
